Sustainable Fashion That Makes Sense

Sustainable Fashion That Makes Sense

Jenny Donnell is an Arizona based influencer and blogger who shares her passion for style on a budget. Her most important job is being a mom to a 6-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son. We sat down with Jenny to learn more about her secrets to fabulous style that makes sense.

Satva: Tell us more about your day-to-day routine as a mom & blogger

JD: I actually spend most of my days driving the “mom uber” around town to my kids’ practices and games. Fun fact: I am an actual soccer mom! Truly nothing gives me more joy than watching my kiddos grow, but exercise is my key to sanity. I love nothing more than a ride on the Peloton or a hike through the mountains, followed by lunch with a friend and browsing around my favorite stores. I share everything from my daily workout outfits, affordable women’s fashion hauls, home remodel projects, sales from my favorite stores, and gift guides on my social media and blog.

Satva: What is your favorite summertime activity? Satva - Organic Cotton Tee

I live in Scottsdale, Arizona where summer turns our beautiful desert landscape into an oven. While I do enjoy cooling down with the kids in the pool, I absolutely love the opportunity to take a break from the day-to-day routine and get out of town. Traveling has always been one of my passions and I genuinely want to see it all. We are doing our best to spend as much time traveling as a family this summer.

Satva: As a “shopaholic” what is your best advice for building a closet that makes sense for you?

JD: Buy what you love and what makes you feel good. Just because you may see a trend in a magazine or on your best friend does not mean it is meant for everyone. I have found that if I do not absolutely love something when I buy it, I likely will not wear it more than once or twice. Find those pieces that excite you to put them back on. Those are the good ones, and they do not necessarily have to have a name brand label or high price tag. I am a big fan of mixing high fashion with affordable finds, which was the basis for starting my online platform.

Satva: What is your secret to having fabulous style?

JD:  I will fully admit, my style has evolved over time. I have always loved fashion and trends, but I now focus on only buying things that are practical. I spend most of my time at kid activities and running errands, so my style is more casual now than it used to be. Fashion does not have to be only outfits that may be seen on the runway. My version of fashion these days is a great pair of leggings, a pair of comfortable jeans, or a cozy versatile t-shirt dress. I have found most people appreciate casual style more than the designer looks anyways. It still is fun though to get dressed up from time to time!

Satva: What do you look for in women’s active & comfy lounge wear brands?

JD: Great material, a comfortable fit and fun colors or prints. Sustainable sourcing is a huge plus, too! Satva is such a great option for sustainable athleisure fashion that will not break the bank and lasts for many wears. The organic cotton tanks are my favorite workout pieces and I love the soft materials and quality!
